Composite layering is the uses of different layer of composite resin to restore the teeth. With the uses of different shade and translucency of the composite resin layer, mimic the appearance of the natural teeeth.
Advantage:
- Minimal invasive
- Esthetic, minic the nature
Disadvantage:
- Technique sensitive
- Short life span, due to the limitation of the material(4-5 years)
Procedure:
Photo 1:Chipped of the left central incisor
Photo 2:use high translucency composite resin to build the palatal enamel layer
Photo 3:Use high chrome composite resin to build the dentin layer.
Photo 4 : use high translucency composite resin to build the labial enamel layer, and then recontouring and polishing.
Root canal treatment (endodontics) is a dental procedure used to treat infection at the centre of a tooth.
The infection at the centre of a tooth (the root canal) is caused by bacteria that live in the mouth and invade the tooth.
This can happen after:
- tooth decay
- leaky fillings
- damage to teeth as a result oftrauma, such as a fall
Root canal treatment is an often straightforward procedure to relieve dental pain and save your teeth. Patients typically need a root canal when there is inflammation or infection in the roots of a tooth. During root canal treatment, dentist will carefully removes the pulp inside the tooth, cleans, disinfects and shapes the root canals, and places a filling to seal the space.。
You should avoid biting on hard foods and advice to have the crown to protect the tooth.
Wisdom teeth, or third molars, are the last permanent teeth to erupt in the mouth. These teeth usually appear between the ages of 17 and 25. Some people never develop wisdom teeth.
Many people develop impacted wisdom teeth — teeth that don’t have enough space to erupt into the mouth or develop normally. Impacted wisdom teeth may erupt only partially or not at all.
If a wisdom tooth is impacted, resulting in pain, infection or other dental problems, We will advice to pull it out for long term oral health.
Assessment:
When considering wisdom teeth extractions specifically, one of the most critical questions is how close the Inferior Dental (ID) nerve runs to the roots of your wisdom tooth. This only applies to the lower teeth.
Just because it looks close doesn’t actually mean it is; the OPG is a 2D picture of a 3D structure. If the wisdom teeth is closed to ID nerve, CBCT is indicated to assess more precisely.
Procedure:
The surgery will be performed under local anaesthesia, sedation anaesthesia or general anasthesia , depending on the expected complexity of the wisdom tooth extraction and your comfort level.
An incision will make in the gum tissue to expose the tooth and bone. Piezosurgery is used to remove the bone which is proved to be a useful and safe technique. The tooth will divide into section and removed. Suture will place to close the wound.
